LaLiga will decide on Thursday whether to postpone the Celta-Osasuna match, scheduled for this Sunday at 21:30 hours. Initially, the decision was to be made on Wednesday, after detecting the poor state of the grass at the stadium due to a fungus that has affected a large part of the playing field. However, both clubs and their fans will have to wait 24 hours more, as they want to wait and see if the state of the grass at Balaídos improves.

On Tuesday, the 11th, Celta found that a fungus had left the grass at Balaídos in very poor conditions and therefore requested the postponement of their match against Osasuna. However, despite its state, the red club preferred to play the match on the scheduled date.

It is worth noting that Celta was able to request the postponement of the match at the time due to the presence of Borja Iglesias in the World Cup final. However, the Vigo club decided not to change the date, as they understood it was best for their interests.

Osasuna, which occupies 9th place in the Liga classification, with 39 points, 10 wins, 9 draws and 12 losses in 31 games, has a balance of 37 goals scored and 38 conceded. The distance with leader Barcelona is 40 points.

Osasuna's next match is on February 28, 2027, when they will face Sevilla at their stadium, in a match that is expected to be very disputed.
