Sevilla manager Luis García Plaza analysed this Sunday the upcoming La Liga match against Club Atlético Osasuna, a rival he labelled as one of the most physical in the category. The game, to be played this Monday at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, marks the team's return home after several weeks away and comes at a delicate moment for Osasuna, who sit 12th with 11 points after nine matchdays.

García Plaza confirmed in a press conference that he has his entire squad available, although some players are only fit for short spells or a maximum of 45 minutes. "Welcome, everyone. Today is International Butterfly Skin Disease Day," the coach began, before focusing on sporting matters.

The right-wing dilemma

A key talking point ahead of the match is the choice for the right attacking flank. The Sevilla boss mentioned up to four options: Rubén Vargas, Chidera Ejuke, Adrià ‘Alfon’ Pedrosa and the youngster Félix. Regarding the Swiss international, García Plaza noted he played 45 minutes the other day, making him a genuine option. This decision gains extra importance against a side managed by Jagoba Arrasate, with whom the coach said he has a very good relationship.

"That game in April was very tough, with a defeat in the 98th minute, but last season's lesson was that while there's life you have to give everything and never give up," stated García Plaza, referring to the dramatic ending last term. The team does not surrender and must fight to the maximum, he insisted, despite going three games without a win against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Levante.

Context and upcoming challenges

The schedule is tight, with four matches in twelve days, the next being against Deportivo Alavés. To face it, Sevilla need points and trust in their positive dynamic. For their part, Osasuna arrive after a 2-0 win against Racing Santander, with goals from Ante Budimir and Asier Osambela, which ended a run of poor results. Striker Budimir is, in fact, the top scorer for the Pamplona side this season with seven goals in nine appearances.

The coach also touched on the contractual situation of Andrés Castrín, expressing his wish for him to renew, though clarifying it is a matter for the player, the sporting director and the president. He also praised the attitude of Manu Bueno, whom he considered one of the best despite limited minutes, recalling his assist for Robbie Ure's penalty against Rayo.

The clash against the sixth-placed side is an important test for an Osasuna that has conceded 18 goals and seeks defensive stability. The match kicks off this Monday, 26 October, at 21:00 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium.
