Osasuna manager Luis Miguel Ramis has ruled out the departures of Aitor Fernández and Enzo Boyomo while demanding new signings for the squad. The Catalan coach stated he has no knowledge of any negotiations involving the goalkeeper and the centre-back.
Luis Miguel Ramis was firm when addressing Rayo Vallecano's interest in goalkeeper Aitor Fernández. The manager declared he has no information regarding a potential transfer. "I don't know absolutely anything about that topic. I understand the sporting direction would have communicated something to me," said Ramis. He added that the player himself is training normally and hasn't mentioned anything about it.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper is a key piece for the Pamplona-based side. His experience is important for a team seeking defensive stability.
Regarding defender Enzo Boyomo, Ramis confirmed he counts on the player if he ultimately stays at the club. The centre-back was on the bench for the league opener, where Alejandro Catena and Jorge Herrando started. "I know about his best version, he has to return to it, for me today he doesn't have it," the coach noted about Boyomo.
The defender's future remains uncertain, but the coaching staff considers him a valid option for the backline. Osasuna aims to solidify its defence for a long La Liga season.
The red-and-white boss admitted the club needs to finalise signings to strengthen depleted positions. He specifically mentioned the paperwork to register new signing Rockson, whose process from Sweden is still ongoing. "Iñaki is going all out in several institutions to get all the necessary paperwork," explained Ramis.
The squad is also suffering at the full-back positions due to Valentin Rosier's injury and Iñigo Arguibide's fatigue. This has forced the team to move players out of their natural roles. The team is looking for internal and market solutions ahead of the next match against Celta de Vigo, a rival who arrives with two extra days of rest.
Osasuna debuted in the league with a goalless draw against Elche at El Sadar. Ramis labelled the atmosphere generated by the fans as "amazing", but expressed his displeasure with only two minutes of added time given by the referee. On the footballing side, the manager asked for more fluidity with the ball and greater decisiveness in contested duels.
The poor state of the stadium's pitch also conditioned the team's play. Despite chances for Ante Budimir, Jon Moncayola and Jorge Herrando, the goal did not come. The team must improve its effectiveness in the final third to turn dominance into results.
The work of the sporting direction is key in these final days of the transfer window. Ramis trusts that the necessary reinforcements will arrive to compete in all areas. With the window about to close, the current squad must prepare for a demanding schedule that includes matches every few days.
