Osasuna begins the 2026-27 La Liga season with Luis Miguel Ramis as its new head coach. The Navarrese club retains a very recognizable squad for its eighth consecutive campaign in the top flight.
The sporting direction trusts Ramis to change the dynamic after a difficult previous season. The coach from Tarragona arrives with a proven track record in the second division, most recently with Burgos. His main task will be to return the team to the mid-table and move past the relegation battle that was resolved on the final day last campaign.
The squad looks very familiar. The major summer departure was Víctor Muñoz, sold to Liverpool for around 40 million euros after his outstanding season and World Cup participation. Juan Cruz (Real Oviedo), Javi Galán (Celta) and Sheraldo Becker (Mainz 05) also left.
The only new signing is Jonathan Dubasin, arriving from Sporting de Gijón for four million euros. The forward, who scored 17 goals last season, will add pace and dribbling. The starting goalkeeper remains Sergio Herrera, with Aitor Fernández as backup.
The defensive line has some questions. Iker Benito and Valentin Rosier will compete at right-back, though the latter is injured for the initial part of the season. The youth product Argibide has also featured in preseason. At center-back, Enzo Boyomo and Alejandro Catena are the starters, with Jorge Herrando as the main backup. The club continues to look for another center-half, though Asier Osambela can play there. At left-back, Abel Bretones is the only natural alternative.
The midfield is the most complete area. Lucas Torró and Iker Muñoz will share the defensive midfield role, with Mauro Echegoyen hoping for more prominence. Further forward will be Aimar Oroz, Moi Gómez and Rubén García. A large part of the expectations fall on Aimar Oroz, who is called to recover his best form. Jon Moncayola and Asier Osambela will provide balance.
In attack, Kike Barja and Raúl Moro compete for the left wing. Barja, now captain, renewed after a brilliant end to the season. The offensive reference remains Ante Budimir, scorer of 17 goals last campaign, accompanied by Raúl García de Haro (7 goals) and the new signing Dubasin. The transfer market still watches players like Boyomo, Aimar Oroz, or Budimir himself, but the club maintains its policy of referring to release clauses.
The club must address contract renewals for several players whose deals expire in June 2027: Aitor Fernández, Lucas Torró, Moi Gómez, Rubén García and Ante Budimir. The immediate objective is to collect points from the start to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
