Jagoba Arrasate took charge of his first training session as head coach of Club Atlético Osasuna on Wednesday. The 75-minute session at the Tajonar facilities was attended by president Luis Sabalza and around 150 fans who came to witness the return of the coach from Berriatua.

Fitness coach Sergi Pérez and assistant Darko Brasanac were active in a session focused on intensity and possession. Arrasate, who knows 70% of the squad from his previous stint, was without several injured players. Jorge Herrando, Romain Del Castillo, Raúl Moro and Asier Bonel continued their recovery work, while Kike Barja trained individually due to muscular discomfort. Aimar Oroz began his recovery from a left hamstring injury.

The team, sitting 16th in La Liga with eight points, is looking to turn things around after a 5-2 defeat to Real Betis. They host Racing Santander this Sunday at 2 p.m. CET, a side that sits one place above them in the table. The last meeting between the two, in July, ended in a 2-0 win for Osasuna.

"I feel Osasuna needs me and I feel I can help," Jagoba Arrasate explained upon his arrival. Preparations will continue on Thursday and Friday with sessions open to the public, while Saturday's work will be behind closed doors ahead of the match.
